I Love a Surprise owned and ridden by Jackie Redish of Whitesboro, Texas won the Southwest Reining Horse Association’s Limited Non Pro Futurity in Ardmore, Oklahoma this last weekend. She also placed 4th in the Intermediate Non Pro for a total winnings of $2291.63. This was Jackie’s first Futurity and you can get the full story on www.swrha.com. I Love a Surprise, aka “Sparky”, was sold last year at the NRHA Futurity as a gelding Futurity Prospect. He was started by my friend, Laurie Deleu of Collinsville, Texas. We have a yearling filly that is a full sister to Sparky and unfortunately she will be the last one of the line as we lost the dam, Little Peppys Vet, this year during foaling. We wish Jackie luck at the NRHA Non Pro Futurity in December.

There will be no ARC Sparkle Surprise Yearlings at the NRHA sale this year.  Please see Horses For Sale for pictures of our horses that are available for purchase.  You are invited to stop by the Double or Nuthin’ Ranch in Collinsville at any time to visit the Yearlings and Weanlings this year and of course the old Man himself, Cisco.

Look forward to seeing you, Susan.

Thought I'd pass along these photos of "Twister" my 3 yo Cisco baby. We are trying to get him to the NRHA futurity this year and hope to succeed. The trainer says he has the talent but I have never had a show horse before so do to my lack of knowledge we are rushing to figure out how to enter him!

This colt is fantastic. He gets nothing but praise from people who watch him. We are still hoping to make this cross again but this mare has had problems with shipped semen (we tried three times this year before taking her to the breeders. Maybe by next fall all my ducks will get in a row!

News from Walla Walla Washington:

Just wanted to let you know Twister performed at his first show last night.  Child obligations made it so I could not go but the trainer called and Twister placed first!  Andy said there "was not another horse there that could touch him."  I am so thrilled!

I will plan to send you some info on my mares as I wanted to breed back to Cisco years ago but with training etcetera it was not possible.  I think I'd be a fool not to try and get  more out of him on the ground!  Pam Fletcher

News From North Carolina:

I own a three year old stallion by ARC Sparkle Surprise x Wheeling Peppy mare. I purchased "Bear" as a yearling from Mike and Natalie McEntire in Selma, NC.  He is still in training there. Last weekend, "Bear" was shown for the first time and won the Lt Non Pro futurity in Williamston, NC.  His first Lawson!  He is great minded and gorgeous!  His next show will be the end of this month in Perry, Georgia. I will keep you posted!  Theresa Ebersberger

News From Broken Bow:

We were very happy with the results from the Sand Hills Slide in Broken Bow, NE.  Dunnits Surprise (Little Buck) has been a dream to work with, and will be shown next in Rifle, Colorado in Sept and at the FEI reining Stallion Futurity in Denver in Oct.

Buck received a 76 & 74 scores, for his 150.  Sheri had (4) offers to buy him before he showed, and she had another offer from Dell Hendricks to buy him after he won the class.  Dell is now interested in buying his Dam, (Dun It Doll) who is for sale.

Buck won the Open & Int Open Fut just over $6,000 and a saddle, two Lawson Bronzes, two coolers, and numerous feed supplements.

If anyone is interested in seeing a video of Buck, please ask.  He is not for sale at this time, Sheri turned down every offer that was made to her and Doug and they were not small.  Thank you very much, Sheri & Butch
